Marilyn Patton Paintings

Welcome to Marilyn Patton Paintings! Please enjoy looking at my more recent work.  I strongly feel every person and every home environment benefits from having art nearby.

The painting now on my cover page is called "Diana's Basin, Winter 2015", available soon at the Deloraine Creative Studios in Deloraine, Tasmania.  We spent the winter and spring of 2015 in St. Helen's on the East Coast of Tasmania. There was a lagoon south of St. Helens that was connected to the Tasman Sea through a gully in the beach that was sometimes open and sometimes shut, depending on the wind and tides.  When shut, it captured many smaller feeder fish within the lagoon and the Pelicans discovered the "easy "groceries" and were happy as could be fishing and sunning and flying around and nesting in that sheltered spot.  We spent many days there in delight!

Thank you for visiting my website.  Soon I will be visiting the Flinders Ranges where I will commune with the beautiful landscape there which reminds me of my home in Wyoming.  I have gone to the Flinders Ranges a number of times, most recently with a group organised by Ben Winspear, a wonderful painting tutor.  I endeavour to paint outdoors.  I am not great at that feat, but I love the camaraderie of my fellow painters, being outdoors most of the days, and the time away from my regular life and its schedules and obligations.  I will be back with you in June at the other end of my painting excursion with an update and pictures!
